 Now the seasons have passed
and I've seen the last of your face
sunk back to this lonesome space

Bleak days bring a chill
And it breaks my will to survive
Memory's curses keep my alive

She sailed o'er the stormy seas
to a land where the sun won't shine
But I'll keep her poor heart safe with me
and remember that it one was mine

Now the winter has taken my love far away
Perhaps I'll forget in time
But a part of her always lingers
Like the last of the fruit on the vine
