notes:
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked, doom scrolling their way through their morning commute looking for an angry fix, angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo of retweets likes and shares, who bared their brains to the digital zeitgeist and found a higher calling in service of corporate mission statements, who passed through universities with radiant cool eyes hallucinating when they believed it was worth every dime, who spent every waking hour thereafter longing for the forgiveness of an unseeing and uncaring loan service officer, or CEO, or President, who tweeted thoughts and prayers for those laid waste by the crippling nihilism of a world left poisoned and uninhabitable by a generation that rest assured that all you need is love while taking everything that was good for themselves, who lounged hungry and lonesome before their Netflix taking solace in the idea that every time they're asked if their still watching, somebody somewhere might know that at that moment they were still alive who knew love is best kept a byproduct of a chance encounter with someone who happened to be using the same app to get laid as you, who wept at the simplicity of using Instacart to bring them bags full of onions and bad craft beers, passed out in the bushes at Coachella and Bonaroo, and accepted that truth is relative to you, but absolute for all others.
